What is the North Okanagan Good Food Box?
We are a volunteer run, non-profit, monthly bulk produce buying initiative which helps families include more fresh fruit and vegetables in their meals.
How much does the Good Food Box Cost?

We offer two different boxes:  Small $12 and Large $20
For more details CLICK HERE

What is in the Small and Large Good Food Box?
This will depend on the season, cost and the availability of the produce. A Small box includes approximately 9-11 items weighing a total of 9-11.5lbs. A large box includes approximately 9-11 items weighing a total of 18.5-24lbs.
Is the produce local?
The Good Food Box prioritizes purchasing local food first.
How do you get your produce so cheap?
The economic cost of the Good Food Box is made possible by group buying fresh local and regional produce at economical wholesale prices. Volunteer labour for sorting and packing is also key to keeping the prices down.
Do you have recipe ideas for all the produce I received?

Our monthly newsletter includes delicious meal ideas featuring the produce included in every box. The newsletter also includes a cost savings for every month.

Who can order a Good Food Box?
Anyone can order a Good Food Box within our service areas of Vernon, Lumby, Cherryville, Armstrong, Enderby, Westside and Falkland.
Can I order every month?
You can order each month or by subscription. With our online ordering system you can tailor your order to your monthly needs.
How do the automatic subscriptions work?
Automated monthly subscriptions help ensure you don’t forget to make your order every month!

The monthly automated subscription option is only available using a credit card at the moment.

PLEASE NOTE! Orders made for subscriptions have a cut off date, and credit card charge date, of the 5th day of every month.

Why a different cut off for subscriptions?

We had to modify the cut off date for subscriptions because every month the second Tuesday falls on a different amount of days from the 1st of the month. Some months it could be 7 days, most other months its days more. Since subscriptions work to submit your order automatically every month, they need to be set with enough time so that they will never be submitted or charged after a regular cut off day. We added a couple days for leeway just in case something unforeseen happens with your order.

How do the order and renewal dates work out?
Subscriptions can be hard to understand sometimes so we hope to explain how they work here for you:

Any subscriptions made after the 5th day of every month (for the next months box) are charged upon starting your subscription. Please see the future charge dates shown.

If it is after the 5th day of the month, but it still happens to be a few days until the regular non-subscription cut off (Second Tuesday of the month) you can make a REGULAR, non-subscription order to get your box for the immediate/impending pickup date.

Examples of the timelines for ordering a subscription box:

Example 1) You subscribe anytime between the 6th day of the CURRENT month until the end of that CURRENT month. Your card will be charged now as you complete your subscription order. Your box will then be ready for pickup on the NEXT month’s pickup day. From then on your subscription will process and charge every month on the 5th day of the month.

Example 2) You subscribe anytime between the 1st to the 4th day of the current month. Your card will be charged now as you complete your subscription order. Your box will then be ready for pickup on the CURRENT month’s pickup day. From then on your subscription will process and charge every month on the 5th day of the month.

If you have any questions about how the subscriptions work, please contact us using our contact page.

Can I substitute items in my Good Food Box?
To keep costs low for everyone, the contents of each box is standardized by the Good Food Box. No substitutions.
