Driver to Pick Up Produce (Vernon Area)

Date: Third Wednesday of each month

Time: 8-10:30 a.m.

Time commitment: 2-3 hours

A volunteer driver is urgently needed to pick up produce from our supplier’s location and deliver it to our distribution location in Vernon. If you can lift up to 50lbs that would be wonderful but just driving our rented truck would be a huge help.

Assembling Good Food Boxes (Vernon)

Date: Third Wednesday of each month

Time: 8:30 am – 1 pm

Time Commitment: 3-4 hours

We always need volunteers at the Anglican Church in Vernon on the Wednesday morning before Box Pick up to help weigh produce and pack boxes.

General Assistants (Enderby, Armstrong, Lumby or Westside)

Date: Third Thursday of each month

Time: 8 – 10 am

Time Commitment: 2-3 hours

We need one or two volunteers to help pick up produce, assemble boxes and distribute Good Food Boxes in their respective communities.

Distribution Day Afternoon (Vernon)

Date: Third Thursday of each month.

Time: 1 – 4 pm , back up of more support 3 – 6 pm from other volunteers mentioned.

Time Commitment:3-4 hours.

We need volunteers at the Anglican Church in Vernon to distribute the boxes to customers arriving onsite.

Become a Good Food Box Champion (North Okanagan)

We are in search of energetic and organized individuals who would like to promote the Good Food Box at schools and businesses. Our GFB Champion would facilitate the ordering and distribution of the Good Food Box in their school or business.

Back up Delivery Driver (Vernon Area)

Date: Third Thursday of each month

Time: 8 a.m.- 2 p.m.

Time Commitment: 3-4 hours

We need a backup person with a pick up or large van in the event our regular door to door delivery driver is unavailable. We pay an honorarium per box delivered.

General Assistants (Vernon)

Date: Third Thursday of each month

Time: 3- 6p.m.

Time Commitment: 3 hours

We need one or two volunteers to help wash and stack the Good Food Box bins and help with general clean up.

Distribution Day Morning (Vernon)

Date: Third Thursday of each month.

Time: 8:30 – 12 p.m.

Time Commitment: 3.5 hours.

We need volunteers at the Anglican Church in Vernon to prepare for GFB distribution in the afternoon. Duties include final produce box assembly as well as cleaning up and organizing the site in preparation for distribution.

Become a Distribution Site (North Okanagan)

Are you interested in hosting a Good Food Box Distribution day in your area? We would like to see the GFB make it into more communities throughout the North Okanagan. Volunteer site hosts would be responsible for picking up boxes from All Saints United Church in Vernon on the third Thursday of each month then transporting those boxes to your area for distribution. Please reach out with your suggestions.

Social Media Liason

Are you a wiz on the computer? Do you enjoy volunteering from home? We are looking for someone who would like to help post to our blog and social media on a regular basis. This includes creating fun and informative posts and graphics for our social media and newsletter.
